Maybe I shouldn't respond because I don't know you but. The only one that can answer that question is you. But from my experience they are fun to play. They can be offensive and defensive. And if you carry other paragons with you, the profession can be a mighty force to be dealt with. I say if you got the slot make one and play around. As long as you're not bored continue to play. If you do get bored re-roll.

just make one and find out for yourself maybe? the only person who can possibly know the answer to these types of questions is yourself.

I miss the times when ppl really tried classes, builds etc. instead of asking at forums.

Leeds, they're fairly similar. If you can play a warrior ably, then you shouldn't have a problem with a paragon. The only adjustment you'll have to make is going from a frontline person to a midline person.

I find the para to be extremely fun and a blast to play, but really the only way to find out if you like them is to try it out for yourself.

Make one in PvP, try it out. It's one of the cost free and most timeless methods.

Too true sadly. I see people asking which class is 'best', which weapon is 'best', which skills are 'best'...before they even start playing the game.

Guild Wars is one of the few MMO's where you can't make mistakes PvE wise. Put your points in the wrong attribute line? Just rearrange them. Upgraded your armor with the wrong runes? Just overwrite them with the ones you want. Picked the wrong secondary? Just change it later on in the game.

The only difference would be the choice of your primary profession, which can't be altered. But if you get bored playing an Assassin after 3 days, just make a Dervish. You still like playing an Assassin after 3 days? Well, just keep on playing

Just make a character and play the game, you will find out soon enough if you like the profession.

I find that Paragon's strengths are in buffing your party and playing a support role, while when I play Warrior I tend to try to deal as much damage as possible and focus aggro on myself. In my mind they are quite different, but as many have said already - there is no "bad" choice of profession in GW. With some experimentation and practice they are all very playable. Whether you like it or not is totally subjective... gl & hf

Everyone has their own opinion about each class. I tried Paragon, didn't like it enough to leave newb island with it. Just my opinion.

From my experience playing warrior and playing paragon are really nothing alike, that does not mean to say though I do not enjoy playing paragon.

For starters paragons deal ranged attacks while warriors deal close range damage.

Paragons imo are more versatile than warriors due to their defensive and offensive capabilities compared to the warriors purely offensive set up (yes you can play warrior defensively but I mean with regards to killing stuff, and keeping stuff alive =P)

Paragons require FAR FAR less skill than a warrior does, they're a much simpler class, they're very passive most of the time.

Paragons are a midline class unlike the warriors frontline roll.

Now i'll admit, i've never actually played a Paragon in PvE, but have quite a bit of experience playing Para in PvP, and can say most of the time I do fairly enjoy it. There's something about the passiveness that's relaxing, but yet this is mixed with the offensive capabilities that stop the passiveness from just being plain boring.

You should give it a go in RA or somewhere like that on a PvP character first, try out a few different builds and get a general feel of the class, then decide if you want to make a PvE para or not.

If you like godmode without skill, take a paragon.

Thats ridiculous!
Playing a Paragon takes skill to use its varied types of skills effectively and it does not even come close to anything closely resembling godmode, however they are like warriors very durable with 80 max armor and do similar damage as a sword. You can focus on spear mastery and be a ranged fighter (Similar range as a shortbow). give party offensive/defensive buffs or a combination of both.

My main is a Paragon and I enjoy the different skills but as others have said you will have to try it for yourself to see if its for you.

They are the most broken class in the game.

What he said isn't ridiculous.

I disagree. I recently made a new para and love her. Yes, it is possible to play a para (or any class) in pve and roll through with heroes. Playing it well is a whole other matter. I find that timing shouts chants etc to get the most out of them is quite fun. It's just like almost every other class. Yes, you can mindlessly button mash and get things dead....but you can also learn the best combo and timing to get em dead faster/better and have much more fun

OP it's a preference really. I'd rolled a para when nf came out and ended up deleting her. I tried again recently and am having a blast.

the problem is that most people think that 'god-mode paragon' is that same old WIKI BUILD that uses focused anger+gfte+tnft..... and that one luxon skill. If I see this build on a team, I usually assume that the person has no clue how to actually run a para, and made the character with delusions about the build of discussion...

Its a very one-sided, easily shut-down, generic build. Almost as bad as a tactics para.

Paragon is my main class, and ive never used focus anger for anything beyond farming raptors. Thats in over 1000h of /age. Yes, they are godly- but only in the right hands. Ive done EVERYTHING with my para... except sorrows furnace.

If you want real fun times, take angelic bond to RA and watch the qq fest.
Or take your para solo-farming. Good times.

I love my paragon, and yes I use the reviled SY/TNTF build for incredible group-wide damage reduction. It's like the old-school Ritual Lord Shelter spammer, which I also loved.

I haven't read through everything - but I definitely love my Paragon, in both PvP and PvE. They have a lot of things they can do - attacking, defense, support, and just... leetness.

Try Imbagon build and come here again. Both of you. I'm sure you find it from Paragon section. Combine it with other paragons+orders so you get even more imba team. Have fun pwning like ursan with heroes. Maybe little slower but you really can't die.

Me and a pal ^^^^ went and vanquished a few areas, me on war, him on para. the support skills from the para are amazing, let my warrior tank like there's no tomorrow. I think it'd be a good class if you don't mind doing midranger, me personally, i like to get either up close and personal (war), or sometimes blast em from midrange (ele). It's all personal preference.
